Printer Spooler service not avliable?

I am running a computer with Windows XP Pro. I just cleaned up some viuruses and adware/spyware/worms, but I cannot print. Whenever I try to add a printer, it says that it is a correct operation, then in the command prompt, when I type "net start spooler", it says that the name of the service in incorrect. And, whenever I go into the MyComputer%26gt;Manage%26gt;services area, the Printer spooler is not avilable to turn on. I have no idea what to do, and I need the printer to work very soon.

The following Microsoft support document may be able to help you, assuming you are running Windows XP operating system (however this particular document deals with a problem related to a Lexmark printer).

http://support.microsoft.com/default.asp...

"Spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem and needs to close" and "Operation could not be completed" error messages.

Alternatively you can get the print spooler service back by performing an XP repair.

Visit the following web site to find out the best way to do this:

Make sure that there an no jobs in the queue.
Go to start, control panel, administrative tools, and then services. Find the print spooler, right click and choose start.
make sure you have the drivers for your printer installed.
