What does this mean? Computer is in danger! etc. with an exclamation mark in yellow?

This message has been popping up for about an hour now:

your computer is in danger... windows security center has detected spyware/adware infection. Click here to install latest protection tools.

But when I click on the message, nothing happens. THere is a red circle with white X on my tool bar. I have gone to Microsoft support, but won't get an answer right away. Any ideas?

DO NOT DO IT! That's exactly what happend to my computer a few weeks ago. It's a Spy Bot Virus. Don't do it. You need to scan your computer for the virus and try to take it out. A lot of times with this virus it will appear it's gone away but it can come back late on! Are you running Norton by any chance? It is a fake that has attacked your computer to try and sell you something.

You MUST get rid of it.

Go to microsoft.com and then downloads.
