Limewire question?viruses

Limewire is perfectly legal, downloading copyrighted material FREE is not.

Limewire question?antispam

No, the only way it is legal is if you pay for it. It gives you trojans, viruses, adware, and spyware. Limewire is not a good choice. SHe is right it is a file sharing program, if someone shares an infected file with you...you get infected. I dont know how old your daughter is but you can download everything on there including x rated videos so you might want to check on what she is downloading. This is illegal and not a good idea. If you want to do it legally try napster or rhapsody
Its illegal i'm afraid, unless you pay, also unless you have exceptional security software then you will receive all sorts of viruses and spyware, if you insist on using it then regularly scan your computer
Your daughter is right you can download any files in that program. But be aware that there might be a spyware that can receive by your computer, you cannot block it. it is better to run an anti-spyware everytime you finished downloading.
Limewire is a peer to peer application. This means that you copy data from the hard drives of people all over the world, and they copy data from yours. Using it to download music, movies and software is illegal, and the fine is between $750.00 and $150,000.00 per file illegally downloaded if she's caught. A Minnesota woman was recently found guilty of illegally downloading music, and the jury set the fine at a little over $9,000.00 each for 24 songs. Limewire and other peer to peer apps are a huge vector for viruses and malware. They spread even faster on these networks than if you're surfing porn sites. Limewire has also been used to assist criminals with hacking, stealing of banking information, fraud and identity theft. There's also plenty of child porn floating around on the Limewire network.
