Yes, you're going about it the right way too. Use multi-layer programs such as 2-3 separate anti-virus and antispyware programs to insure that you don't get caught in the "easy system" mode.

By that, I mean using one program such as Norton Ant-Virus or any other all inclusive package as your sole security system. While these packages are usually very good, there is always one part that's better than another.

Don't gamble with your security always use multi-layered scanners to be sure you capture the latest and greatest viruses and eliminate them completely.

Yes use them. they are very helpful so you can check for viruses so they dont make your comp. crash.
Do you have other choice?
no. but no choice they are all the same
Yes they are good and in addition you should use Spy Bot S%26D. You can run this tool once per month or so. Be sure to update it before you run it.

Another tool is Advanced Windows Care. This as with S%26D will run with most other applications.

None are 100% but with these you cover most all attatcks.
si means yes
Yes you should. If you are good about updating them periodically for the latest viruses and spy ware, then you are pretty well covered.
If you keep your definitions up to date, and current, then you can probably trust your anti-virus program about 95%. Every anti-virus program, and spyware sweeper has some items it misses. Plus some popular programs have known holes in them and virus coders can find these out and exploit them.

So, are you safe? Well, probably... But just be cautious, and make sure you trust the source of where you get any files that you download.

Hope that helps.
There are many options to consider when choosing a Spyware or Virus scanner. All applications will tend to display different results, as a variety of different detection methods are used. If you are experiencing frequent pop up windows while browsing or are observing considerable performance issues with your computer, then these programs may not be effective. If you keep them up to date then trust them.
