Hi I made the mistake of dowloading the divocodec virus. But when I went to install it there were several install errors. Anyways I ran a spyware sweep, a PC_Cillian sweep. My spyware sweep discovered adware.lop. I used my recovery cds to return my computer to the condition it was when it was purchased. Then I ran a norton sweep, and a karpansky antivirus sweep. Nothing showed up. I wanted to make sure I killed the virus. To make sure of that what would be some of the symptoms if it was on my system?

you are safe after running the recovery disk. what you did is erase all old files and replaced them with new clean files. good luck.
Divocodec is a brand new one, little is known about it and most anti-virus programs are not detecting it yet:

If by "I used my recovery cds to return my computer to the condition it was when it was purchased." you mean that you reformated and re-installed Windows, then yes the malware will be gone.
Using the recovery CDs after deleting the partitions should be sufficient to remove any virus, unless it's possible to get a virus at the BIOS level.
