What is waol.exe and why is access denied while it's sucking all of my cpu usage?

When waol.exe kicks in the computer must be shutdown manually. When I access the task manager to stop the process I receive an access denied message. It is impossible to do anything with the computer when waol.exe is running. Adware and trend micro don't help.

Some viruses and malware or adware programs mask themselves as waol.exe. If yours is sucking your cpu usage, it is probably malevolent. Read this... http://www.file.net/process/waol.exe.htm... , especially the "important" note.

This is an AOL program so you must be using one of their products.
yeha
It's a program used in AOL. If you delete it, AOL won't run. If you don't use AOL, you are better off uninstalling the whole program as it takes up a lot of hard drive space and (in my experience) causes the computer to crash.
