How do I stop pop-ups.?

I think it might be spyware, but I don't no how to remove. I have an anti-virus program called kaspersky, but the spyware must be in a fle folder or something. Can soe one plee tell me some ways to look for the spyware (not add/reove programs) or something I could download that will actually work to remove the adware/spyware.
