Can i block single words in e-mails?

like viagra,sex, etc have windows 98 and yahoo anti spy,spybot search and destroy and adware se with avg on start-up still getting e-mails that are not on the up and up ...can block up to 500 with yahoo spam have used about 275 still getting to many.....

It depends. your anti-spyware and anti-viruses can't do that. It requires a security suite or maybe a firewall.



If you use G-mail, just create a filter.



If you use ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite, just activate it.

its nearly impossible to block these e-mails by blocking the words themselves... if you notice they often use creative spelling like v1@gra or \ /iagr@... so you can still read it, but its hard to catch with word based filtering... you can get some spam filtering programs (like your yahoo anti-spam) but nothing is perfect and you'll pretty much have to pay for it... or you could use a different e-mail program (like microsoft outlook) that have built in filtering that usually does a really good job
