ok, still when i click on links (like from yahoo, to go to sports) it brings me to a web-page that is black and it has a bunch of random letters, numbers, and symbols. IT IS NOT A VIRUS, SPYWARE, OR ADWARE!! i already did a bunch of scans and nothing bad came up. My friend recommended that i re-format my hard drive. What do you think i should do???!!! and have you ever seen anything like this before?!? PLEASE HELP! thanks

Well I have faced a similar problem before, when i enter google i was redirected to another page:

2 Things to try:

1- Download Fixwareout from:

http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout...

Run it and follow directions.

This worked for me, but i am not sure if it can work for you because your problem is similar to mine but not identical.

2- If Fixwareout does not work for you. Download the Best Antivirus software: NOD32, www.nod32.com

Although you scanned your computer with some antivirus softwares, NOD32 can detect viruses that others do not.

Just give it a try.

Try a different browser like Firefox, as, contrary to your insistence, something had your old browser in its grips, and if it is IE, well, that is not surprising. But don't try to uninstall or reinstall it as it is integrated into the system. You could try to update it, that may work. Everyone has a geek friend, ask them to take a look at it. It is maddening when these thins act up.
