Something has happened to my deskptop wallpaper!!!!?

MY desktop wallpaper has suddenly dissappeared and been replaced with a plain blue background. I tried right clicking on the desktop, going to properties, and I click on the desktop tab. The only thing it will allow me to do is to change the solid color to something else. I cannot browse, I cannot click on any of the background choices, I can however, click on customize, but that really doesn't allow me to change the wallpaper. I tried changing the wallpaper several times and it still stays blue, however, when I shut down windows, at the very end, I see a quick flash of the wallpaper I had chosen. I have ran a virus scan as well as Adware and it still hasn't fixed my issue. Any ideas??

I have sometimes seen this when the computer resources are low. If you have rebooted and it still is not resolved, you may want to see what applications are in memory when you first boot up.

This can also be an issue with video. Check to make sure you have the latest video driver for your video card. Try reducing your resolution (i.e. if you are viewing your screen at 1024 x 768 resolution, try 800 x 600) This may temporarily resolve the issue, and will determine that it is a video issue.

If you have a newer computer that comes with support, they may be able to assist you with determining a proper resolution.
