PLEASE provide me with computer security must haves, eg, are they norton, spybot, spyware, etc?

Please list what you consider "must haves" for the typical computer owner, eg, name and brand (links preferred) for your recommendations.

I currently have AVG, AD-ADWARE SE PERSONAL, and SUPER ANTISPYWARE. I don't have, however, Norton or McAfee (is this a mistake?).

its great!!

it blocks hackers and prevents unknown threats to your comp.

removes viruses

blocks internet worms

stops spy ware

blocks spy ware from hijacking your comp.

guards against on line identity theft

inspects the web sites to make sure they are safe

removes dangerous threats from downloaded files

blocks suspicious programs

and allows only authorized programs to connect to the internet

to sum up

its a anti-virus

a personal firewall

antispyware

and antiphising :]

i would also recommend norton more than macafee

What security program to use depends on what you are using your PC for and what you want it to do. the best advise i can give you is to check this link it lists the top security suites with reviews of each one, all i can say is i prefere McAfree but that is my own personal opinion!
